Barbara McNair

Collins, Mississippi

Barbara McNair is a national board certified public school educator in the Covington County School District. Her educational philosophy is that all students should be given the opportunity to reach their full potential. She believes each student is unique and should be in an educational environment that allows them to grow mentally, socially, and emotionally. She provides her students with the needed tools to develop into productive citizens.
She graduated for Alcorn State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Business in 1989. She also received her Master of Science Degree in Education from Alcorn. She worked in the Department of Public Relations for ten years at Alcorn State until January 2000.
A native of Collins, Mississippi, Barbara has worked in the education arena for numerous years. She began her teaching career at Bassfield Elementary School. Then, she started teaching at Collins High School. She taught compensatory writing for several years before transferring to the Career and Technical Educational Complex. She currently teaches Marketing and is the Distributive Educational Clubs of America advisor. She encourages her students to give back to the community through various community service projects.

Grants Awarded in 2021: School Supplies Grant

NSHSS is always looking to find ways to support our network of educators, especially those who are constantly looking to support their students. To help offset the financial burden, NSHSS is awarding fifteen (15) high school educators $500 grants to help provide additional opportunities to their students and classrooms.
