According to global conflict-tracking research, there are over 110 active armed conflicts worldwide, impacting millions of civilians through displacement, food insecurity, disrupted education, and loss of basic rights.

Slavic Voice 4 Ukraine is a youth-led nonprofit media platform dedicated to amplifying Ukrainian voices and fostering understanding of Ukraine’s culture, history, and ongoing struggle for freedom. Through journalism, storytelling, and art, the organization connects global audiences with authentic Ukrainian perspectives while promoting empathy, resilience, and unity across communities.

EmpowerHer

EmpowerHer is a youth-led nonprofit focused on uplifting Afghan girls and women whose education and opportunities have been severely restricted due to ongoing conflict and political repression. Through mentorship, creative expression, and leadership development, EmpowerHer provides Afghan girls with tools, confidence, and platforms to share their stories and shape their futures.

NSHSS Advocacy Scholarship

NSHSS will award students with a demonstrated passion for activism and advocacy $1,000 to be used towards their education. Do you have a passion for bringing about social, political, or civil change in your community? Does a particular cause or idea have your attention? Do you hope to apply these skills to your college education? This scholarship will open again in 2026!
