The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS) teamed up with St. Jude Children’s Research Children’s Research Hospital and ALSAC to bring a group of our members to the St. Jude campus in Memphis, TN. This 1.5 day event allowed NSHSS member to explore all aspects of careers in healthcare and research.
The event kicked off Friday, October 25 at the Dominoes Event Center (DEC) on St. Jude’s campus where members were welcomed by Amy Junge, Director of Field Engagement. Members enjoyed a behind the scene campus and hospital tour followed by a pizza party. On Saturday, October 26, the event continued with inspiring workshop sessions like Global Outreach, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Graduate School of Bio Medical Sciences, and a special speech from a patient. NSHSS members were honored and recognized and each received a medallion for their high achievements. We look forward to continuing this program in 2020.
