This educational conference featured several educational sessions, a college and career fair, a member party, and countless networking opportunities. Attending members learned more about all of the benefits of NSHSS membership including:

Saturday, August 9 –  8:00 AM - 6:30 PM ET

Members met us in Levering Hall to scan their tickets and build their name badges!

Members and their parents enjoyed coffee and a continental breakfast while mingling with other NSHSS members and exhibitors!

Members met and explored opportunities with corporate, educational, and government leaders from renowned organizations and universities from around the globe!

Scholar’s Day 2025 kicked off with a welcome message from NSHSS President and Co-Founder Mr. James Lewis, followed by event announcements and opening sessions from NSHSS partners.

As a top admissions consulting company, they drew on their experience working with more than 8,000 families to share their best tips and guidance for navigating the increasingly competitive undergraduate admissions process.

Members heard from St. Jude Children's Research Hospital - ALSAC on how the organization helps support families on their toughest journeys. From living a charitable life to demonstrating gratitude and good citizenship.

Horton Test Prep presented on the changes with the new digital exams, when to start the test prep journey, and how high scores can help earn full tuition and other merit-based scholarships! Because it’s not just about getting into your dream school; it’s about being able to pay for it.

A special Success Beyond Academics session featuring guest speaker Tanya Odom. This session was a sneak peek into one of the course modules focused on communication. They explored what it really means to be an effective communicator, how to express yourself clearly and authentically in writing, and why the way you show up to others matters. They also touched on the growing role of AI in communication and how to stay true to your voice in a digital world.

A panel of medical professionals and organizations discussed the healthcare industry and how students can prepare for their future studies and careers in this industry. There was a live Q&A during the session. Featuring representatives from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT), American Speech–Language–Hearing Association (ASHA), U.S. Army ROTC, American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM), and a member of the NSHSS Collegiate Council!

Sessions broke for attendees to enjoy lunch on their own at a local eatery. There were plenty nearby to choose from! Members also used this time to explore the JHU campus and network with exhibitors at the College & Career Fair!

Members heard from multiple well-respected professionals about what they are looking for from the next-generation workforce and how to build essential skills to be prepared to make the transition from academic success to career achievement.

NSHSS partner U.S. Army ROTC will hosted an educational session.

Multiple NSHSS scholarship winners discussed how they made their applications stand out from the rest of the applicant pool. Members learned valuable tips on showcasing their academic and community accomplishments.

Claes Nobel World Betterment Award, Educator grant, and scholarship recipients were awarded!

Members heard congratulatory remarks and received their NSHSS honor medallion for their academic achievements.

NSHSS members enjoyed for a casual welcome gathering featuring a DJ playing their favorite songs! Members made new friends, played some games, and made connections as we celebrated the community of NSHSS members!

Following the MRC, students attended their member party and made new friends. At the same time, parents and adult guests were invited to participate in a special parent session presented by HelloCollege about helping their student find their best-fit college!
